The volcano Koryaksky is located 35 kilometers north of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. It is also called Koryakskaya Sopka. It is the largest volcano in the Avacha group, it has the right cone shape, is considered the most beautiful volcano in Kamchatka and a local natural landmark. Its height is about 3456 meters, it is slightly inferior to the volcano Klyuchevskaya Sopka. The volcano Koryaksky has two craters, one ancient, and the second younger. The modern crater is located on the southwestern slope of the volcano and has a diameter of 180-200 meters, its depth is only 20-30 meters. The ancient crater is located on the northern slope of the volcano and is filled with a glacier.
