Within the framework of the Sport Festival “Snowy Way” in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, there will be a demonstration competition on wyetpulling – a competition of dogs for dragging gravity downhill, which will be held on March 10 near the village of Zaozerny.
To date, 14 participants with dogs have been invited to participate in the weltpulling competition. Among the declared four-footed strongmen there are dogs of breeds Alaskan Malamute, Cane Corso, Prairie, American pit bull terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, etc.
Dogs will move the load in a specially adapted for towing slay. Each dog-participant without the help of the host must move the platform with the load for a distance of 5 m for 60 seconds. According to the world standards, the starting weight should not exceed, for example, 80 kg for dogs weighing less than 20 kg, 100 kg for dogs weighing less than 30 kg, etc. But the arbiter can assign a smaller starting weight.
The winners will be determined in several weight classes. The winner will be the dog, towed the greatest weight in its weight category. The title “Absolute Champion” MWP (Most Weight Pulled) will be awarded to the dog towing the maximum weight. And the dog, which has moved the maximum weight in relation to its own weight, will be declared the “Record” MWPP (Most Weight Pulled Per Pound).
To participate in the competition will be allowed only conductors over the age of 12 years with dogs at least one year old and not older than 12 years. On the site before the competition veterinary control will be conducted. A gross or inhuman treatment of the dog will entail the disqualification of the handler.
The organizer of the competition is Kamchatka Club of Service Sports Kennel “Champion” (RFSS). The competition starts at 13 o’clock.
The winter sports festival “Snowy Way” will be held on March 10 in the village of Zaozerny.
