According to the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the dome continues to grow. The process is accompanied by powerful gas-and-steam emissions, and a new block of low-viscosity lava is growing in the northern part of the dome. A new active center began forming near the Young Shiveluch dome in late December 2025. In January–February 2026, the dome's growth was accompanied by ash emissions up to nine kilometers high. Currently, the new dome has surpassed the height of the Young Shiveluch dome. Shiveluch is an active volcano in Kamchatka, consisting of Old Shiveluch, an ancient caldera, and the active Young Shiveluch volcano. It is located about 50 kilometers from the village of Klyuchi in the Ust-Kamchatsky district.

Shiveluch is one of the largest and most active volcanoes in Kamchatka, estimated to be 60,000–70,000 years old. It consists of the old Shiveluch massif, a vast caldera, and the active Young Shiveluch dome. In late December 2025, a new active center began forming near the Young Shiveluch dome.
