In the international airport of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky began work on the expansion

At the international airport Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (Yelizovo), work began to expand the existing air terminal complex.

It is planned to add to the building additional premises with a total area of about three thousand square meters, where the zone of border control of passengers of international flights, a zone of high comfort, a VIP zone, catering and retail outlets will be located.

The temporary pavilion is set for the period of construction of a new passenger terminal (until 2021) to improve passenger comfort, both on domestic and international flights, as well as to increase the capacity of the main air harbor of Kamchatka. The existing infrastructure of the airport does not allow increasing passenger traffic, including international destinations.

Currently, in accordance with the requirements of transport security along the perimeter of the construction site of the pavilion, a fence has been installed, work has begun on the dismantling of the metal fence and free-standing structures, and removal of networks has been carried out. In addition, the development of working documentation is actively conducted. The active phase of construction will begin in late August. According to the schedule, it is planned to put the object into operation in March 2019 – on the eve of the spring-summer season, on which the peak load of the airport for passenger service annually falls.
