The government of the Kamchatka Territory summed up the work of hunting inspectors last year. According to official information, the settlements of the region were visited by lynxes, foxes and stoats.
According to Deputy Chairman of the regional government Roman Vasilevsky, last year Kamchatka hunting inspectors returned about ten wild animals that entered the city to their natural habitat. “The organization of catching wild animals in urban settlements that are in distress and pose a potential threat to the health of citizens has been established. For these purposes, a pneumatic remote injector was purchased to immobilize them,” explained the deputy chairman. Let us remind you that from summer to winter, the settlements of the region, including Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Yelizovo, Vilyuchinsk, are periodically visited by bears. Fortunately, the predators’ promenades along the city streets did not lead to tragic consequences. They usually simply try to drive wandering clubfoot into the forest. If this does not work out, the predators, due to their danger to people, are shot the old fashioned way. Apparently, tranquilizer injectors do not work on bears, but they did work on officials who forgot to add dangerous animals to the list of wild visitors to the cities and towns of Kamchatka.
