In the classes, future guides in the field worked out the theoretical knowledge obtained in the lectures on orienteering in the field, the use of topographical knowledge. On the second day, the workshop participants practiced the technique of overcoming a water obstacle through a hinged crossing. In the course of the training, elements of insurance for tourists on crossing were worked out (insurance with the help of a handrail and a gripping knot, crossing with the help of parallel rails)
The seminar of guide-guides is a half-year course on preparation of professionals in the field of tourism and travel. Every week in the tourist club there are lectures on various topics: the basics of safety when entering the route, proper nutrition in the hike, first aid, camping equipment, the nature of Kamchatka and much more.
Experienced instructors conduct practical classes with students, where future guides more effectively absorb the acquired knowledge. In this way, the participants of the seminar have already made several hikes, where they learned the correct course on skis, orientation on the terrain, organizing camps, overcoming obstacles of various complexity, etc.
From June 7, consultations with participants of the seminar and preparation for examinations begin.
Classes are conducted with the support of the Agency for Tourism and External Relations of the Kamchatka Territory within the framework of the Kamchatka Krai State Program “Development of Inland and Entry Tourism in the Kamchatka Territory”. At the expense of the regional budget funds, 20 instructors-guides are trained annually.
