Live Webcam: Central Square of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky

Sorry, this camera hasn't been working lately.

This live webcam broadcasts from the Central Square of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky in Russia. The square is situated on the artificial land of the former Kultuchnoye Lake, now separated by a dam from Avacha Bay. It unites two historic squares: Lenin Square and Ozernovskaya Spit.

The area is nestled between three picturesque hills (sopkas) — Nikolskaya, Mishennaya, and Petrovskaya — which create a unique and scenic urban landscape. The square itself features pedestrian walkways, green spaces, benches, and a large parking area.

The square and its surroundings are home to numerous monuments, including:

  • A monument to Lenin

  • A monument to the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul

  • A monument to V.S. Zavoyko

  • An Alley of Naval Glory

The architectural centerpiece is the "City of Military Glory" stele on the shore of Avacha Bay, commemorating the title awarded to the city on November 3, 2011, for the courage and heroism of its defenders.

Key buildings and sites around the square include:

  • The Government Building of the Kamchatka Krai

  • The Kamchatka Drama Theatre

  • The Kamchatka Regional Museum

  • An ethnic village on the shore of Kultuchnoye Lake

  • The Naberezhnaya embankment on Ozernovskaya Spit, with its walking areas, pebble beach, and a seal art object.

To the south lies Nikolskaya Sopka, a natural monument park known for its stone birch forest and viewpoints overlooking Avacha Bay and the city center. To the north, Mishennaya Sopka offers the highest viewing platform in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
