From August 26 to September 1, rescuers received reports of 31 incidents in which 28 people were injured and 19 were rescued. Eighteen people died in the plane crash, four are missing.
According to the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, 17 earthquakes were registered during the week. Three of them were felt with a force of up to 5 points in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Vilyuchinsk and the Yelizovsky district. Several ash emissions occurred on the Karymsky volcano. The most powerful one reached a height of up to 10 kilometers above sea level. The wind raised ash from previous eruptions from the slopes of the Shiveluch volcano. The plume stretched for several dozen kilometers, without affecting populated areas. Tourist routes registered 29 groups during the week. 332 people traveled around the peninsula. On the evening of August 31, rescuers evacuated a tourist from the Avachinsky volcano. The woman injured her leg during the descent and was carried on a stretcher from a height of 1,700 meters to the foot of the mountain.
