Residents of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky have determined the winner of the Avacha Street Art festival, held for the fifth time, the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky administration reported.
The voting took place from September 8 to 11.
According to its results, Sergey Ivlev from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky was declared the winner with his painting "Take Care of Your Family" on Frolova St., 4.
The second place with the triptych "Kamchatka. Family" was taken by the EffectGraff team consisting of Egor Gerasimov, Nikita Pinchuk from St. Petersburg and Evgeny Krasnoyarov from Krasnoyarsk. The painting decorated three ends of an apartment building at once on Dalnevostochnaya St., 16.
The third place was taken by Artem Makovsky from the regional center and his mural "Ganalskie Vostryaki" on ul. Avtomobilistov, 39.
The winner and prize-winners will receive grants for creative development. Their size is not reported, but last year the author of the best painting received 300 thousand rubles. In total, this year the artists painted 10 pictures on the ends of houses on the streets Daurskaya, 8, Dalnevostochnaya, 16 (triptych), Yakornaya, 1/1 and Leningradskaya 65/1, Tushkanova, 29/1, Arsenyeva, 35, Frolova Street, 4 and Avtomobilistov Street, 39. The eleventh - the final mural of this year - will be dedicated to the heroes of the special military operation. The artist will complete the work in the near future. The main themes of the drawings were the history and culture of Kamchatka, significant events, attractions, nature, an active lifestyle. Some of them are dedicated to a significant event - the 170th anniversary of the heroic defense of Petropavlovsk from the attack of the Anglo-French squadron. Let us remind you that "Avacha Street Art" has been held in the regional center since 2020. Over five years, artists have already painted 88 murals on buildings and the ends of buildings in the city.
