Rescuers conducted mountain training sessions on rocky terrain on Mount Verblyud in the Avacha Pass area, the regional department of the Russian Emergencies Ministry reported.
According to legend, the man fell from the top of the cliff from a height of several dozen meters. Rescuers went to help the immobilized man. Having reached the scene, they pulled up trolleys (an aerial rope crossing) and lowered the victim to the foot of the cliff on an akya (a sled-drag designed to transport the victim).
During the mountain training, the rescuers worked out various ways of using mountaineering equipment on rocky routes, lifting and lowering the victim using a special stretcher, providing first aid, as well as elements of free climbing. "Tourism in Kamchatka is actively developing, more and more people come to the peninsula and go to the mountains and volcanoes. Accidents in the mountains are no longer uncommon. Therefore, rescuers hone their skills in order to come to the rescue as soon as possible,” said the head of the search and rescue team, Sergei Markov.
