The middle of September in Kamchatka turned out to be rainy, but in the north of the Kamchatka Territory there were already minus temperatures at night.
According to the Kamchatka Hydrometeorological Center, in the second ten-day period of September, the leading role in the formation of the weather was played by the Okhotsk Sea cyclones. They provoked heavy rainfall. In most areas of the Territory, the amount of precipitation was 1.5-3.3 times higher than the ten-day norm. But in some places in the east and in the central part of the peninsula, it fell within the normal range or slightly less. The temperature background was close to the average long-term values.
Warm weather with anomalies up to +2°C was observed in some areas of the northern half of the Territory. At night in the central part and in the north of Kamchatka, the air temperature in some places dropped to -1, -4°C. On the warmest days, the air on the peninsula warmed up to +14, +19°C. Let us recall that the first frosts on the peninsula were registered a month and a half ago. On the coldest nights, the air temperature dropped to 0°C, and in the village of Slautnoye in the northern Penzhinsky district, there were frosts down to -1°C on August 10.
