The Karymsky volcano erupting in Kamchatka on Wednesday morning ejected a column of ash to a height of up to 2.5 km above sea level, the Kamchatka Volcanic Eruption Response Team (KVERT) reported.

“The ash plume extends 50 km to the east-northeast of the volcano. Moderate activity of the volcano continues. Ash explosions to a height of up to 10 km above sea level may occur at any time,” the report said.

Experts added that the volcano’s activity may affect international flights. Some planes may have to adjust their routes.
