Several bears are roaming near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and may venture into the city's microdistricts.

According to public hunting inspector Vladimir Shabliy, not all bears have entered hibernation yet. Some may remain active because they haven't accumulated enough fat reserves.

Currently, a bear is in the area of the former settlement of Bolshaya Okeanskaya near Bolshaya Lagernaya Bay and might appear in the Zavoiko and Kopai microdistricts.

Two bears are at the mouth of the Avacha River, with one recently chasing fishermen on the Shiroka River. These bears might emerge in the Avacha and Seroglazka microdistricts and settlements along the old Yelizovskaya highway.

A bear that was previously in the city center and the KP area, having killed two dogs on Sovetskaya Street, is active again. Hungry and not ready to hibernate, this bear might visit Vysotnaya, Tundrovaya, and other nearby streets.

Vladimir Shabliy urged residents not to chase bears with cars but to report sightings to the 112 service immediately.

He also noted that the forest is currently empty of hares, and lynxes, wolverines, and even wolves—unprecedented near the regional center—have become active on the city's outskirts.
