An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 occurred on Monday morning in the waters of the Kronotsky Bay off the eastern coast of Kamchatka.
According to the Kamchatka branch of the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the epicenter of the seismic event, which occurred at 10:59, was located 156 km northeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The focus was at a depth of 58 km beneath the seabed.
Judging by comments on social media, in certain areas of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the earthquake was felt with an intensity of up to 3 on the Richter scale.
