A man was mauled by a bear in Kamchatka

On December 9, a man tragically died in a bear attack in Kamchatka. The incident occurred near the shift camp of the Ozernovsky Mining and Metallurgical Plant, operated by JSC SiGMA. Law enforcement agencies are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the event.

JSC SiGMA has extended sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased and will provide comprehensive assistance and support to the family.

According to sources from KAMCHATKA-INFORM, the victim was one of the deputy heads of the joint-stock company.

Earlier this year, on July 25, another fatal bear attack occurred in the forest near the settlement of Termalny in the Yelizovsky District. In that incident, a female bear mauled a man. Hunters subsequently tracked down and shot the bear and her cub.
