In the first ten days of December, the weather on the peninsula was dominated by cyclones. They arrived from the Khabarovsk region and the Sea of Japan, according to KamchatHydromet Center.In the central and southeastern areas of the region, the amount of precipitation exceeded the average values by 2-6 times. In the northern and western areas, precipitation was below normal, with some places receiving none at all.
Almost the entire region experienced extremely warm weather. Temperature deviations from the norm reached 4-9°C, and in the central part, 10-13°C.
On certain days, temperatures on the peninsula rose to +2,+4°C, and in the regional center and Tigil district, up to +5,+6°C. Only in the Penzhinsky district and along the coast of the Olyutor district did the air temperature remain within the long-term average values.
By the end of the decade, the snow cover on the peninsula ranged from 8-43 cm, with some central areas measuring 66-82 cm.
