New airport terminal in Kamchatka to receive first passengers in spring
Dec 25, 2024
The new terminal at Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky International Airport (Yelizovo) is set to welcome its first passengers in the spring of 2025.

The Governor of the Kamchatka Territory shared the updated timeline for the terminal's completion in his social media video diary.

"The Yelizovo airport is the primary air gateway to our peninsula. By spring 2025, we will unveil not only a modern and functional facility but also one of the most beautiful airports in Russia. Architecturally, it will stand as both a landmark and a source of pride for us. The days of retrieving baggage in our makeshift 'greenhouse' and enduring cramped conditions in the outdated terminal will soon be behind us," the governor stated.

The new passenger terminal, designed for both domestic and international flights, will span over 50,000 square meters. It will feature five telescopic bridges, with the potential to expand to eight. The terminal's capacity will accommodate 1,145 passengers per hour.

Inside, the terminal will host a hotel with approximately 120 rooms, along with souvenir shops, clothing and leisure stores, and a variety of dining options. The station square will offer short-term and long-term parking for over 940 vehicles.
