Due to severely narrowed roads, regular passenger buses serving the Avacha and Mokhovaya routes in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky have been suspended. Instead, shuttle buses are now operating nonstop on the "10 km – Mokhovaya – 10 km" and "10 km – Avacha – 10 km" routes to maintain transport links.
Meanwhile, social media reports indicate near standstill traffic in parts of the city, particularly along the BAM road and the 10 km area. Kamchatka’s Governor, Vladimir Solodov, has been gathering public complaints about uncleared roads through his Telegram channel.
The city has been hit by a powerful two-day cyclone, dumping heavy snow and disrupting daily life. On March 25, administrative staff and government employees were instructed to work remotely, while kindergartens remained open only for essential duty groups. Authorities have urged drivers to avoid unnecessary trips to prevent obstructing snowplows and to park responsibly.
Additionally, avalanche warnings in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky’s mountainous zones have been extended until March 27 due to hazardous conditions.
