From January 12 to February 6, specialists from the laboratory of the Kamchatka branch of the National Fisheries Quality and Safety Center conducted an inspection to assess the quality and safety of pink salmon roe.
According to the institution, three samples of the delicacy, totaling approximately two tons, were examined. The roe underwent rigorous testing for a range of indicators, including microbiological and organoleptic properties, the presence of polychlorinated biphenyls, toxic elements, pesticides, radionuclides, biogenic amines, and parasitic contamination.
The analysis revealed no violations; all tested caviar was confirmed to be safe and of high quality. The results of the study have been entered into the Vesta component of the VetIS information system and have been communicated to the product's owners.
For context, as of mid-November of the previous year, the laboratory had tested a total of 557 samples of granular and sac salmon roe, identifying various violations in 17 of those samples.
