Several communities in the Yelizovsky District are preparing to celebrate Maslenitsa, according to local officials.
The village of Paratunka will kick off the festivities on Saturday, February 21st, with "Maslenitsa – 2026." The program at the Aqua Resort Kamchatka includes a carnival-themed ice skating event, a costume competition, the ritual burning of the winter effigy, and a pancake fair. It all starts at noon.
The following day, Sunday, February 22nd, the village of Vulkanny will host a traditional folk festival titled "Maslenitsa is Good, Her Soul is Broad!" outside the Galaktika House of Culture, beginning at 12:00 PM.
Yelizovo city will also celebrate on February 22nd. The events will begin at 10:00 AM at the Vitus Bering International Airport, with the party moving to the Skazka Park of Culture and Recreation at noon.
Meanwhile, in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the Broad Maslenitsa celebration will be integrated into the "Snow Way – 2026" winter sports festival on February 21st. Attendees can enjoy the "Maslenitsa Revelry" program, complete with traditional games, circle dances, and contests. A key highlight will be the chance for the strongest attendees to climb the Maslenitsa pole and win one of 15 prizes.
