This year, 11 venues were set up across the Kamchatka Territory where residents could test their knowledge of the Russian language, according to the regional Ministry of Culture. The venues were located in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the town of Yelizovo, and the village of Kovran in the Tigil District. For the first time, the event was also held at the regional branch of the "Defender of the Fatherland" foundation. For the second year in a row, participants could write the Total Dictation in the Alutor language. An additional venue at Vitus Bering KamSU offered this option. This year, the university venue — which served as the regional center for the event — gathered over 80 people.
The first Total Dictation was organized in 2004 by students of the Humanities Faculty at Novosibirsk State University. Over 22 years, the event has grown into a global initiative: it is organized by the Total Dictation foundation and brought to life by activists and volunteers in cities around the world. In 2025, the event spanned more than 50 countries, bringing together 1,329,047 participants in person, online, and via the online marathon broadcast.
