On May 9, residents and visitors of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky marked the 81st anniversary of the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany. The main events took place at V.I. Lenin Square. At 10:00 AM, a march of the parade units of the troops and forces in northeast Russia began. Following the parade, a concert program featuring the city's and region's best creative ensembles and performers was held. The most important and heartfelt event started at 12:00 PM — the "Immortal Regiment" procession took place in the regional capital. The celebration will conclude with a fireworks display in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky at 10:00 PM.
