Jun 13, 2026

Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky – For the first time, a multinational Bread and Loaf Festival took place in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky as part of Russia Day celebrations. This large-scale culinary event brought together 19 public organizations that are members of the regional branch of the Assembly of Peoples of Russia.

Festival guests had the chance to sample a rich variety of traditional baked goods: tetyorybaursaksbatskavy bulkichureksbortsokinatukhizhupkipidohynony, as well as classic loaves and savory pies filled with potato and cabbage. Every dish was handmade by representatives of the different ethnic groups living on the peninsula.

Kamchatka Krai Governor Vladimir Solodov visited the festival. He thanked the participants for preserving their traditions and congratulated the residents on Russia Day. "Huge thanks and a deep bow to all representatives of our friendly peoples – together we are building Kamchatka, our common home. Happy holiday! Happy Russia Day!" the governor said.

Igor Klemin, head of the regional public organization of Russian national culture "We Are Rusichi," noted that Russia Day is above all a day of unity. "Russia Day is first and foremost a day when we can show our unity, because our country is multinational. Russian homes have always been famous for their bread, so we decided to take part in the festival," he explained.

Throughout the festival, everyone who attended could not only watch but also taste the traditional dishes of the peoples living in Kamchatka.
